About Sixes Lacrosse

Sixes is a fast-paced, high-energy version of lacrosse that combines the best elements of the traditional game. It’s known for its quick transitions, smaller teams, and non-stop, high-scoring action.

New to Sixes? We highly recommend completing the free Playing World Lacrosse Sixes Course and reviewing the official World Lacrosse Sixes Rulebook.


Squad Information

  • Team Size: Minimum of 6 players, maximum of 12 players.

  • Team Requirement: We will not send a team with fewer than 10 players.

  • Eligibility: Up to 25% of the team may come from other Australian states.


Training Details

  • Location: UNSW Village Green

  • Time: 7:00 PM, Wednesdays from 4 September – 23 October 2024

During training, you'll be coached by experienced Sixes players. Sessions will focus on game rules, techniques, and plays specific to the Sixes format. Please note that Sixes has different rules compared to traditional lacrosse.


Tournament Availability

To ensure smooth planning, we require all players to adhere to the following schedule:

  • Arrival: By 5 PM on Friday, 25 October 2024

  • Departure: After 5 PM on Sunday, 27 October 2024 (recommended flight departure at 6 PM or later)

Please refrain from booking flights until your spot on the team is confirmed.


Required Equipment

It is the responsibility of each player to source their own equipment. Below is a basic list of required gear:

Men’s:

  • Helmet

  • Gloves

  • Elbow & bicep pads

  • Mouthguard (no red, clear, or white)

Women’s:

  • Stick

  • Goggles

  • Mouthguard (no red, clear, or white)

There is limited club kit available for borrowing. Please plan accordingly.


Cost Breakdown

Here's a breakdown of the approximate costs per player:

Total Estimate: $790

Accommodation: Players are required to stay on-site at the team accommodation. Cabin-style lodging with private restrooms will be provided.


Payment & Deposit

To confirm your participation, we require a $50 deposit by 5 PM on Sunday, 22 September 2024. If the minimum player count is not met, your deposit will be refunded. The remaining balance will be due by Sunday, 13 October 2024.
